Frequently asked questions
Honest, up-to-date answers about taking a taxi from Skopje Airport, ridesharing in Macedonia, prices, luggage, payment and more.
Ridesharing & local transport
No. Neither Uber nor Bolt currently operates anywhere in Macedonia. Travellers used to international ride-hailing apps will not be able to use them in Skopje.
A new local platform — isplit.mk — is launching in June 2026. It will offer ridesharing, taxi-sharing and airport-sharing inside the country. However, prices are not always metered for the airport-to-city route, and there is no guarantee about the language spoken or the vehicle's condition. Pre-booking removes the uncertainty: you know the price, the vehicle and the driver in advance.
